# Openieng Conference

On 27th-29th January,.2020, an international conference was held to open the CENETSIE project – the Central European Network for Sustainable and Innovative Economy. The project is financed by NAWA. Its implementation is scheduled for two years and will end on 30th  September, 2021.

The event comprised 91 participants, including 33 from abroad. They were representatives from all the partner universities:

  • Poznań University of Economics and Business
  • The D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov
  • Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra
  • University of Economics in Prague
  • Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague
  • University of Zagreb
  • University of Szeged
  • International Innovation Center in Kiev.

On the first day, guests were welcomed during a gala dinner by the project coordinator, Barbara Borusiak, Ph.D.., Prof. from Poznań University of Economics and Business.

On the second day, the conference began with an official welcome by the PUE authorities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Anna Gliszczyńska-Świgło, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Education and Students. Then, in the first part of the meeting, the keynote speakers presented their reflection on global changes in the context of climate and economy. The first presentation entitled “Anthropogenic reasons of climate changes” was delivered by Bogdan Chojnicki, Ph.D., professor from University of Life Sciences in Poznań. The second speaker was Prof. Aldona Kamela-Sowińska from the Poznań University of Economics and Business, who gave a presentation on “Predatory usage of natural resources”.

These speeches concluded the open-for-public part of the conference. In the second part, the project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barbara Borusiak, Ph.D, Prof. UEP invited guests to present their universities and to present scientific and research activities in the area of sustainable development and innovation. After the partner universities finished the presentation, she discussed the project assumptions and planned projects related to its implementation – workshops, e-books, a summer school and cooperation in the preparation of international scientific and research applications.

The last part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of coordinators of individual project areas and to the discussion of financing rules.

After the official part, the invited guests had the opportunity to visit the historic part of Poznań – the Old Town.

The last day of the conference was dedicated to workshops on e-books, where participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the principles of publication and declare participation in the work on their preparation.

After this part, the conference came to an end.
