# Strategic Games in Education workshops

Report on Strategic Games in Education workshops as part of the project Central European Network for Sustainable and Innovative Economy – CENETSIE
17th – 21st Febuary, 2020, Prague

On February 17th – 21st, 2020, workshops on Strategic games in economic education took place, organised jointly by the University of Life Sciences in Prague and the University of Economics in Poznań. The workshop was attended by representatives of all CENETSIE partner universities:

  • The D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov
  • Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra
  • University of Economics in Prague
  • Zagreb
  • University of Szeged
  • International Innovation Centre in Kiev.
  • Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague
  • Poznań University of Economics and Business.

The workshops were conducted by trainers from the Poznań University of Economics, Prof. Aleksandra Gaweł and Dr. Anna Wach, Ph.D. The aim of the workshop was to familiarise participants with the essence of strategic games in economic education and preparation for the development of a new game that would be used by the CENETSIE project partner universities. Within 40 hours of training, participants could learn not only the basics of creating a strategic game but also play one of its versions.

In addition, modern education methods based on learning by experience and assumptions of a constructivist approach to economic education have been introduced.

As part of the unofficial part of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to visit the historic part of Prague, take a barge along the Vltava River, as well as visit the facilities on the campus of the University of Life Sciences in Prague, including the mini Brewery.
